Many people are shifting to a plant-based diet. Thanks to its proven health and environmental advantages. In US, more than a third of consumers are trying to switch to plant-based foods.
“India is a very large vegetarian food consuming country, the most number of meals are vegetarian. So when we started talking to vegetarians, mostly vegetarians or vegans – the conversation of protein would always come up. The conversation would come around not that there are no protein options, it was always about there are not enough protein options,” said Siddharth Ramasubramanian, Founder, Vegolution.
He further added, “Therefore, we landed on the fundamental proposition that said if we confine a food that vegetarians and vegans would love to cook, eat and enjoy and meat eaters would say, ‘hey when I am not eating meat, I really enjoy eating this as well for my protein’. Then we researched and found our product based on soyabean and water, no other ingredient. Just the process of fermentation for 36 hours.”
