Shehnaaz has always been open about her weight issues, which she has blamed on the entertainment industry saying they “hire only slim girls”.

New Delhi: During an appearance on a comedy show, Shehnaaz Gill was asked about her body transformation, to which she said she was exhausted talking about it.

“I’ve become exhausted answering this question about my physique.”

“My body doesn’t listen to me,” she added saying that she feels extra weight after eating something delicious despite controlling her diet for a week.

  • Leads to nutritional deficiencies: Experts feel that quick and fad diets cut out whole food groups which makes you miss out on key nutrients, vitamins, and minerals that are needed by the body to stay healthy. A deficiency of these nutrients can lead to many ailments and body issues.
  • Slows down metabolism: Rapid weight loss because of extreme calorie deprivation can slow down metabolism as it helps the body to conserve energy. A slowed metabolism, according to health experts, can lead to more weight gain than loss.
  • Causes dehydration: Sudden weight loss because of starvation or other unhealthy diets can deplete water in the body leading to severe dehydration with side effects like headaches, constipation, cramps, and tiredness.
  • Takes a toll on mental health: Losing weight quickly can have psychological consequences as well. The body undergoes an extreme transformation which can lead to things like body dysmorphia, anorexia, and bulimia. Many times, due to slowed metabolism, mental health also takes a hit causing stress, anxiety, and depression.
